2015 New Mexico Heritage Preservation Award for Individual Achievement
On May 8, 2015, the authors, Phil and Rosanne Archuletta were honored along with a group of other leaders from throughout New Mexico at the 43rd annual Heritage Preservation Awards. The awards are given by the Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Cultural Affairs. They received the award for Individual Achievement because of their publications, as well as their willingness and enthusiasm to do outreach through personal appearances. They travel throughout the southwest and beyond telling the stories of the women honored by the New Mexico Historic markers.

You see them on almost every road trip. Highway signs and mile markers named after people who apparently did something to earn these distinctions.
